The Provincial and District public service workers and school-going children in Eastern Province today marched in Chipata Central Business District to mark the official commemorations of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction.

The event was graced by Eastern Province Acting Permanent Secretary Lewis Mwape after a march past from the provincial administration to Hillside Girls School.

The IDDRR is being commemorated globally under the theme, “Empowering the next generation for a resilient future.”
